In the work of my photographs there is a common thread of age and solitude. There is a strength in both the aged and solitude that draws me into a place of comfort.
I believe we need to be social and to enjoy our youth, but on the tail side of life I know we need to have plenty of time of solitude and embrace all the blessings that come with aging. There is so much beauty in both.
Our culture, unfortunately, tends to over saturate us with youth and parties as the idea of beauty that we ought to embrace. I prefer to focus on what I consider a truer beauty, the beauty of character. The character that can only come by time and solitude. Nothing stands on this earth forever and I hope to capture a little of it before it is gone.
